Automotive decision intelligence
We developed Datium Insights’ automotive data products and commercial platform on Azure, reducing valuation response time from 22 seconds to 5.
Who we built this for.
Datium Insights (Pickles Auctions) began with a single valuation API and no customer-facing app. Softobiz built both the products and the commercialisation platform on Microsoft Azure: a full self-service suite spanning valuation, forecasting, and multi-asset pricing.
The engineering brief was demanding: protect proprietary pricing data from scraping, cut latency, generate image-heavy certificates fast, and stay highly available through data syncs, at financial-sector volume.
What stood in the way.
Scrapers after the data
Proprietary pricing data was exposed to OCR-based scraping.
22-second valuations
API latency made real-time use cases impossible.
Availability through sync
Data synchronisation windows threatened uptime commitments.
Financial-sector volume
The platform had to scale to institutional demand.
The solution, piece by piece.
Azure microservices
AKS-orchestrated services behind a reusable Kong API gateway, with Kafka and Dell Boomi in the fabric.
Image-based anti-scraping
The real price is overlaid with an invisible decoy that defeats OCR scrapers.
Backup and failover
Automated failover keeps valuations live during data sync.
AI-accelerated delivery
An AI-assisted development lifecycle compressed build time across the suite.
What changed for the client.
5s
Valuation response
Down from 22 seconds, opening real-time use cases.
99.99%
Availability
Sync windows no longer cost uptime.
10+
Products from one API
A monetisable, self-service product suite.
4-12x
Faster certificates
Image-heavy valuation certificates generate in a fraction of the time.
The capabilities that carried this engagement.
